Cadillac Ranch on Route 66

Visiting Texas and want check out a real bumper crop with a difference? Bus rental Texas is just the ticket for you with our party bus, charter bus, luxurious coach buses and affordable mini bus to take a road trip down Route 66 to see a real American icon.
Situated along the legendary route 66, now known as Interstate 40 in Amarillo Texas, is a public sculpture and art installation that features a series of ten Cadillacs from 1949 to 1963 that have been buried in the ground, nose first, all tilted at an angle that corresponds to the Great Pyramid of Giza in Egypt. Just driving by in one of our bus charters would be good enough to cheer you up.
Created in 1974 by Chip Lord, Hudson Marquez and Doug Michels, the original installation running or junked versions of older Cadillacs representing the birth and death of the tail-finned luxury barges so loved by our bus rental Texas customers.
Today Cadillac Ranch has become a firm part of American popular culture and has been sung about, featured in movies, music videos documentaries and reality television shows, been seen in advertisements, photo shoots and even been sponsored by a motel chain! Strongly recommended by Bus Rental Texas, indeed!
Our bus rental Texas visitors to the Cadillac Ranch, which is visible form the highway and actually sits on private property, are encouraged to walk into the property, add graffiti or spray-paint the wildly decorated vehicles, which have since lost their original colors.
Don’t worry about defacing an artwork as the cars have repainted countless times for advertising shoots, as part of a sponsorship deal, and even in flat black at one point to mark the passing of one of the original artists who conceptualized the installation.
So whether you drive your own car, rent an American classic, or decide to take it easy and ride there in comfort with bus rental Texas just point your GPS to 35°11′14″N 101°59′13.4″W and see the installation that inspired the Cadillac Range in Pixar’s animated feature “Cars”.
